Bow hunting is one of our specialties at Motsomi Safaris, and as passionate bow hunters ourselves, we understand the skill, patience and preparation it takes to successfully hunt African game with a bow. We have dedicated hunting areas specifically managed for bow hunting, giving our hunters the best possible opportunity for a successful and rewarding experience.

Most bow hunting takes place from permanent blinds strategically positioned at waterholes and frequently used game areas. Our setups include tree blinds, pit blinds and ground blinds, with typical shooting distances of approximately 20–25 yards. Trail cameras are used throughout our bow-hunting areas to monitor animal movement and activity. This helps our professional hunters identify productive locations and plan each hunting day accordingly. Visit our gallery to see some of the incredible animals captured on our trail cameras.

For hunters looking for an additional challenge, walk-and-stalk bow hunting is also available. It requires patience and careful stalking, but getting within bow range on foot makes for an unforgettable African hunting experience. A well-tuned, quiet and fast bow or crossbow fitted with strong, sharp fixed-blade broadheads is suitable for most African plains game. Because equipment requirements may differ depending on the species you plan to hunt, we encourage you to contact us before your safari. We will gladly help you make sure your equipment is suitable for the animals on your wish list.

We also have a crossbow available for observers or companions who would like the opportunity to experience hunting from one of our bow blinds. Travelling to South Africa with your bow is simple, as no permit or import fee is required to bring a bow into the country. Whether you are an experienced bow hunter or preparing for your first African bow-hunting adventure, our goal is to provide the right environment, knowledge and opportunity to make your hunt one you will always remember.
